L-20A Beaver
STOL utility transport aircraft for the U.S. Army, later redesignated U-6A in 1962, 968 built.
This 1/48-scale model kit of the L-20/U-6A Beaver from Dora Wings is a completely new mold, and was announced at the 62nd All Japan Model Hobby Show! The DHC-2, a STOL aircraft that first flew in 1947, was produced for about 20 years, with nearly 1,700 made. The aircraft used by the U.S. military was adopted as the L-20A (later called the U-6A), and it was used in combat in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In Japan, it was operated by several airlines, and the Antarctic Research Expedition also used one on the Antarctic research vessel Soya between the second and fifth observations, nicknamed Showa-go. This aircraft was used to withdraw the first team members staying at Showa Station during the second wintering team's dispatch in February 1958. This kit comes with photo-etched parts, painting mask stickers, and decals for four versions -- three for the U.S. Air Force and one for the U.S. Army.
